Class Descriptions:

Hip Hop (1) – Class focuses on basic skills and different hip-hop elements, such as tutting, footwork, and freezes, that could be incorporated into their “freestyles”. A sense of attitude and confiden6ce will be gained.

Attire: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes & sneakers.

Hip Hop (2) – This class goes more in-depth with skills that were previously learned, ands tudents will focus on developing their own “style”. More hip-hop elements will be introduced, such as gliding and poppin’.

Attire: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes & sneakers. 

Hip Hop (3) – Students will be introduced to new choreography on a weekly basis. Routines will incorporate a wide range of different styles and techniques, so students can be exposed to all forms of hip-hop– as well as be challenged.Attire: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes & sneakers. Ballet (Beg) – Basic concepts will be covered. There is less traditional barre work and more independent movement. Balance, hopping, skipping, jumping, stretching, basic positions of the feet and arms, and ballet class etiquette are part of the curriculum.

Attire: Leotard, tights, & ballet shoes. 

Ballet (1) – Ballet for this age group reinforces the basic concepts learned in Ballet I. Moving in time with the music becomes more important, as well as memorization of ballet terminology. More complex combinations are given as student’s progress with an introduction to Jazz techniques.

Attire: Leotard, tights, & ballet shoes. 

Ballet / Jazz (Int) – Ballet for this age group reinforces the basic concepts learned in Ballet I. Moving in time with the music becomes more important, as well as memorization of ballet terminology. More complex combinations are given as student’s progress with an introduction to Jazz techniques.

Attire: Leotard, tights, & ballet shoes. 

Jazz – Fun, energetic and artistic movement performed to popular music. This class incorporates traditional ballet technique as well as various styles of lyrical, contemporary and classical jazz steps. Improves coordination, posture, and flexibility.

Attire: Form-fitting clothes & jazz shoes. 

DJ’ing (Ages 10 & up) – Class size is kept small, so each student is allowed ample “hands-on” time on the equipment. Students will everything from how to setup the equipment, to ”drop the beats”; scratching; mixing; etc… They will also learn the business-end of the industry and see what it takes to become a successful, self-made DJ.

Supplies needed: Notebook & pencil.

Gymnastics – Leaps, Jumps & Turns dance class is used as a supplement to ballet and jazz techniques in an effort to better the execution of leaps, jumps and turns throughout your dances! This class is a technique class that is dedicated to learning, improving, and perfecting technique in leaps, jumps, kicks, turns, etc. Stretching and strengthening is also combined to improve dancer’s power.

Attire: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes & sneakers.
