Art In Motion’s Young Starz performed for the first time at The Giggles Children Theatre located in St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Young Starz showed the children watching from their rooms and sitting in the audience a few of their warm ups, routines and a small free style session. All the audience members and children had fun dancing in the aisle; even had a few kids join the Young Starz on stage. We had a great time showing new moves and spreading smiles throughout the ward. Thanks Marie we’ll see you soon!!Sandy Storm
With the tragic hit to our community, our Young Starz organized a food and clothing drive to help the victim of Super Storm Sandy. Together we passed the word around and donations came in from AIM parents and friends. The clothes were sorted and the food was packed into our cars and delivered to trucks heading down the shore, even one that was sponsored by Z100.
The Young Starz are back on The Giggles Theatre stage! As promised the Young Stars returned for a second time to perform for the pediatrics ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital. For this second performance the Young Starz once again warmed up and danced for the children. We even had one of the Young Starz lead in a “tuttin” sequence that everyone joined in on. It was great to hear the Young Starz agree to come back next year to dance once again.
Spike Out Hunger
Spike Out Hunger is a volleyball tournament where the proceeds benefit AIM Inc’s future programs as well as Oasis, a local non-profit in Paterson. Teams paid registration fees to participate in the tournament, while spectators paid or brought four non-perishable foods. The Young Starz, were the leads for the event and responsible for collecting the food. We collected a great amount to restock some of the shelves for the food pantry at Oasis and help fund new workshops at AIM.
